Did I really just say that? YES! And I am sssssoooo guilty of doing just that! It’s something I fight against all the time.

When I was first diagnosed with M.S. I took this needing-to-be-perfect struggle to heart. In the blink of an eye, it was very clear to me- we really can be our own worst enemy. Answer: Not well! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! Stay focused on your movement, I stay focused on giving you the best instruction I know how. I’m focused on YOU! I try, as much as I can, to cue proper breathing to enhance and ease each exercise. But even if you’re inhaling when I’m saying to exhale, that’s okay, JUST REMEMBER TO BREATHE!

It’s Monday, a great day to talk about how to stay on track with your workouts!

Here’s the thing: no one can force you to exercise. No one can make you do squats with proper form, guilt you into ab crunches until your obliques are on fire, or shame you into chest flys.

The first thing you have to realize is that it is up to YOU to keep YOURSELF on track. Period. Only you. Not your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband. Not your mom or dad. Not your dog or cat (although they can certainly help). Nonetheless, we all need a little help now and then! Here are some ways to help you stay focused – use them all or take just a few!
